Girgols lies to the south-east of Saint-Cernin, bordered to the north by Tournemire and to the south by Laroquevielle. The Doire and other rivers irrigate its pastures. Girgols, the least populated commune in the former Canton of Saint-Cernin, has the particularity of having its territory divided into two sections: Girgols and le Rieu. Each section of the Commune has its own church, cemetery, old schools and gîtes.
