Farms from the Middle Ages in Xaintrie
Description
This Middle Age’s village is unique in France. The owners have been building it on 12 hectare (29.65 acres) for 10 years. They have already received more than 150,000 visitors. It is situated in an exceptional environment as far as the eye can see over the Cantal Mounts.
You will discover a fascinating story of the life at the end of the Middle Age: different farms, a mill and a church. There are also ethnobotanical gardens planted with more than 350 plants and real medieval animals (pigs, cows, goats...). A very detailed reconstruction after twenty-five years of ethnographic, historical and archaeological research. 45 minutes far from Aurillac, in the direction to Pleaux. In high season, guided tours.
